Description
The Krysalis Calix Black is the core hookah system, built around a stainless steel core and a shatterproof clear vessel. Core system means the hookah itself. It takes any Kaloud Lotus and any compatible bowl, both sold separately.
Black is the one that disappears. Matte stem, clear vessel, and in a dim room you mostly see the water moving and nothing else.
Kaloud does not build these out of glass. The vessel is a clear shatterproof polymer, which reads like glass and survives being knocked over, moved between rooms and cleaned every week.
Core system or complete system
A core system is the hookah: stem, vessel, seals, ports. You add your own heat management device and bowl.
A complete system arrives with the bowl included and nothing left to source.
Buy the core if you already own a Lotus and a bowl you like. Buy complete if you are starting from nothing.

What you still need
A Lotus heat management device and a bowl. The Samsaris Kore fits every Lotus and is the easiest place to start.
A hose, if you do not already have one. The Aeolis range is washable and colour-matched to the Lotus finishes.
Care and cleaning
Warm water and a bottle brush after each session. No dishwasher, no abrasives on the vessel.
Empty the base every time. Water left standing overnight is the single most common cause of a hookah that tastes wrong.

Is a bowl included?
No. This is the core system. Bowl and heat management device are sold separately.
Is the vessel glass?
No. It is a clear shatterproof polymer, chosen so a knock does not end the hookah.
Which Lotus fits it?
All of them, including the Lotus I+, Lotus II and Lotus III.
What is the difference from the complete system?
The complete system includes the bowl. This one does not.
How do I clean it?
Warm water and a bottle brush, and empty the base after every session.
