Description
The Kaloud Samsaris Lapis II is a silicone and ceramic hybrid hookah bowl built for flavor, dimensioned around the Lotus II. Ceramic holds heat evenly and gives it back slowly, which is why this is the bowl for people who care more about taste than cloud size.
Ceramic is the forgiving option. It climbs to temperature gradually and it does not punish you for one coal too many the way aluminum does. If you smoke light blonde leaf, or you have been fighting harsh sessions, this is the bowl that fixes it.
The silicone housing means you can handle it warm and it will not chip if you knock it against the tray.
Ceramic or aluminum
Ceramic heats slowly and evenly. Better flavor separation, more margin for error, ideal for blonde leaf and lighter cuts.
Aluminum heats fast and runs hot. Better for dark leaf and dense cuts that need serious heat to vaporize properly. That is the Samsaris High-Heat bowl.
Most people who describe their sessions as harsh should be in ceramic.

How to pack it
Fluff pack for blonde leaf, dense pack for darker cuts. Leave a few millimetres between the tobacco and the top of the bowl so the heat has somewhere to work.
Start with fewer coals than you would use on foil. The whole point of running a Lotus over a ceramic bowl is that you can add heat later without disturbing anything.
Care and cleaning
Let it cool fully before washing. Warm water and a soft brush. No dishwasher, no abrasives.
Ceramic holds flavor slightly more than glass does, so rinse it properly between very different flavors.
