Description
Kaloud Aura is coconut shell charcoal made by Kaloud for the Kaloud Lotus. Pressed from Indonesian coconut shell and formulated for clean, consistent heat rather than fast heat.
Charcoal is the variable most people ignore and then blame the bowl for. Cheap coals throw uneven heat, break up, and leave ash that finds its way into the shisha. Consistent coals make a heat management device do its job properly.
Kaloud built the Lotus, then built a charcoal to run in it. The cube dimensions and burn rate are matched to how the Lotus holds and moves heat.

Why coconut shell
Coconut shell charcoal burns longer and cleaner than wood or compressed sawdust briquettes, and it does not carry the chemical accelerants that quick-light coals do.
It also holds its shape as it burns, which matters inside a Lotus. A coal that crumbles halfway through changes the heat profile without warning.

How to light them
Bring them up on an electric burner until they glow evenly across every face. Grey ash all over, no black patches. That takes longer than most people allow, and rushing it is the most common cause of a harsh first ten minutes.
Never light charcoal inside the Lotus. Heat coals separately and transfer them in.

Two large cubes for a standard Lotus I+ session. Fewer if you are running a high-heat aluminum bowl.
Are these quick-light coals?
No. There are no accelerants, which is why they taste clean. They need a burner.
How long do they burn?
