The Kaloud Samsaris Cyris is a silicone and aluminum hybrid hookah bowl built to run hot, dimensioned around the Lotus II. Aluminum conducts heat far better than clay or glass, so this bowl reaches working temperature fast and holds it.
Use less charcoal than you think. This bowl generates serious heat. Kaloud designed it that way, for dense-cut and dark leaf tobacco that will not vaporize properly in a ceramic bowl. Run fewer coals than usual, or start with the lid off your Lotus, and add heat from there.
The Cyris finish is brown. It changes nothing about performance.
Who this bowl is for
Dark leaf, dense cuts and anyone who has been frustrated by a bowl that never quite gets there. If you smoke light blonde-leaf tobacco and already fight overheating, buy a ceramic bowl instead. The Samsaris Lapis II ceramic is the better match for that.

How to run it
Pack lighter than you would in ceramic. Start with fewer coals, or with the lid off your Lotus II, and work up rather than down. Adding heat is easy, pulling a scorched bowl back is not.
If your session goes harsh in the first ten minutes, you have too much coal on it. That is the usual mistake with this bowl.

Care and cleaning
Let it cool fully. The silicone housing makes it easier to handle than a bare metal bowl, but the aluminum core stays hot long after the session ends.
