The Kaloud Lotus I+3 is a heat management device with a stainless steel base, built for long sessions and big bowls. It replaces foil. Load up to four large coconut coals, set the lid, and it regulates the burn for you.
This is the Lotus for people who run out of session before they run out of patience. Where the standard Lotus I+ takes two large cubes and gives you about an hour, the I+3 takes four and stretches to roughly ninety minutes.
Three heat settings
- Lid off. Lowest heat. While the bowl comes up, or to pull back a bowl that has gone hot.
- Lid on, vents open. Medium. Where most of the session lives.
- Lid on, vents closed. Maximum. Dense-cut tobacco, larger bowls, the back half of a long session.
You change setting by rotating the lid.
Why heat management works
Shisha does not burn, it vaporizes. Glycerin and flavor compounds release cleanly between roughly 130°C and 220°C (266°F to 428°F). Push past that and the tobacco enters pyrolysis, which is where harshness and the burnt-throat finish come from.
Foil gives you no control over that window. The I+3 holds coals off the shisha and moves heat by convection and radiation, and the larger coal load means the window stays open longer before anything needs touching.
